Santigold Goes Boom In Sacramento

Santigold kicked off the second date of her first national tour sponsored by Filter Magazine in Sacramento on Friday, May 22nd at the Empire Event Center. I arrived just in the nick of time to catch the excitement that was in the air that built into a dubbed out explosion once she took the stage that evening. Santigold came into town accompanied by a full band that switched between live instruments and programmed drum machines and synthesizers.

In addition to that she had two sweet robot like dancers who really added some spicey flavor to the show. Their synch in movements on stage helped egg on the feverish and frenzied crowd that evening. According to the setlist I scored post show (thanks to my homie Chris) Santigold is throwing a Cure and Pixies covers into live sets. This night she deviated from the list and invited Amanda Blank on stage to do a cover of L.L Cool J's song I Need Love. Check the madness of the night in the video below.
